IXPN was officially commissioned by the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) by 10.00am Friday, 14th of January, 2011 at our main site 8th floor, NCR Building, 6 Broad Street, Lagos.
The event also witness a gathering of our peering members as well as other stakeholders in the industry.
The IXPN Chairman, Chima Onyekwere OON welcomed the EVC and his entourage and also invited guest and stakeholders in the industry. He stated the key purpose is to allow all network interconnect through the exchange point therby benefit them by reduction in costs, latency and bandwidth typically.
He gave the History and the journey so far on IXPN.

In his remark the EVC noted that the event marks a major starting point for realizing the desire to achieve speedy spread of Internet services across the country, and the quest to reduce cost of Internet connectivity, improved quality of Internet services and above all, keeping the nation’s local Internet traffic local.

He pledges NCC support for the IXPN project .
