IXPN has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with The Nigerian ICT Forum of Partnership Institutions Ltd/Gte on collaboration towards the formation of Research and Education Network (REN) clusters, a National Research and Education Network (NREN) in Nigeria whose goals are:

I. Formation of Research and Education Network (REN) clusters in all parts of the country and a National Research and Education Network (NREN) in Nigeria.

II. Promote content development and sharing in Nigerian Higher Education Institutions.

III. Aggregate bandwidth demand to provide lower cost of bandwidth for Higher Education Institutions in the country.

IV. Conduct training and campaign awareness on Research and Education Networking and the Nigerian National Research and Education Network (NREN).

V. Mobilize support and resources towards achieving the set goals.
