Sunday Folayan holds a Masters in Engineering from the University of Ilorin. He is an Internet Protocol Network Engineer, Cybersecurity Expert, Trainer and Data Wrangler. He was appointed to the Board of IXPN in 2007. He is the Chief Executive Officer of General Data Engineering Services, also known as SKANNET. He was one of the promoters of the Ibadan Internet Exchange point (IBIX), the first exchange point in Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigeria Cybercrime Advisory Council and the Co-convenor of the Nigeria Network Operators Group (NgNOG). He has served in the past as the Chairman of the AfriNIC, President of NIRA, Board Member of NITDA, and a member of the Interim At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) of ICANN. He is a Priest in the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion.
